COLOMBO/HORATHAPOLA

DAY 02

After a good night’s sleep and an early breakfast, set out from the tranquil grounds of your garden estate and into the quiet green inland to explore the island’s nature highlights of the Cultural Triangle.
En route, stop by SPICE AND HERBAL GARDEN to get your first introduction to Sri Lanka’s most famous Spices and herbals .
On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy your evening at leisure in the cool climate of the hills.

DAY 03
KANDY

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Kandy for a city tour in Kandy. Visit Kandy Lake, shopping for some of the antiques and gems. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya soon after lunch. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens with its incredible collection of tropical flora. If, like most, you are inspired by Kandy’s pastoral surroundings, we can organize a nature walk with our resident naturalist.

DAY 04
KANDY/HATTON

After a luxurious breakfast, today you will travel further south into the verdant green hills of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and magic region – the Hill Country – proceeding to the quiet town of Hatton.
A ride by local train is the way to see this country best and is a highlight of any Sri Lankan visit ( Your chauffeur will pick you at Hatton train station ). With its cool air, magnificent waterfalls, and thriving tea culture, the enchanting allure of these hills must to be seen to believe. Clicketty-clack through dark tunnels on winding tracks, past tea bushes trimmed by regular picking that look like green sculptures stretching up and down the misty hills as far as the eye can see. While on board you will encounter food vendors with their offerings of “short eats” and local musicians who will serenade you for a few rupees. This is the complete experience!
Spend the rest of the day at your leisure with a cup of tea in your hand, enjoying your surroundings and the pleasant change in temperature.

DAY 05
HATTON

Today you can truly soak up the beauty of this magical place or simply rest and relax.
An extra day here gives you a perfect opportunity to play a round of golf, visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, take a walk through the unbelievably beautiful tea plantations, or stop by a Tea Factory for a tour and to sample some of Ceylon’s finest. Nature lovers will love the boundless views and the shimmering cascades of Horton Plains. And some will be happy just relaxing with some tea amidst these truly stunning surroundings.

DAY 06
HATTON / TANGALLE

After a couple of civilized days in the tea country, you may be ready to explore the island’s sun and surf. You’ve waited long enough. Today you will descend the hills and head south to the dry-zone and into the decadent, white sand beaches of Tangalle.
Check into your resort, relax and enjoy the gentle breeze coming off of the Indian Ocean.

DAY 07
TANGALLE

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, sun-kissed and relaxed.
Again, today is yours on the beach. Options at your disposal in the area include sea turtle watching at the nesting sights in Rekawa, the famous Dickwella Blowhole in Mawella (where high water pressure causes sea spray to shoot 50 feet in the air), or photographing the extraordinary local stilt fishermen at work on the southern coast. (But will you really want to leave this gorgeous beach?)

DAY 08
TANGALLE / AIRPORT

Drive Time – Approx. 3.5 hours
Though it will be difficult to say goodbye, all good things come to an end. Your Chauffeur will meet you on time at the hotel lobby to return you by way of a scenic drive to the international airport for your departing flight and a safe journey home.
