Day 01
Airport /Colombo
Drive Time – Approximately 01 hour
Arrive in Sri Lanka in the style you deserve, greeted by your chauffeur guide and transferred directly to Colombo – the island’s urban center where your journey begins.
On arrival take your time to check-in to your hotel and spend some time at leisure.
Evening explore the wonders of Colombo and its unique historical sites.

Day 02
Colombo / Pinnawala / Sigiriya
Drive Time – Colombo to Pinnawala – Approx. 2 hours / Pinnawela to Sigiriya – approximately 2 ½ hours
After a good night’s sleep and an early breakfast, set out from noise and chaos of the capitol and into the quiet green inland to explore Sigiriya and the island’s ancient highlights in the Cultural Triangle. On your way, you’ll stop by the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to get your first introduction to Sri Lanka’s most celebrated inhabitants. It is recommended that you leave at around 6:30 am to catch sight of the elephants’ feeding.
After your visit to Pinnawela, continue to your hotel in Sigiriya, check-in and enjoy some down time.
Thereon you can take a climb to one of the island’s most spectacular sights – the 5th century rock fortress of Sigiriya.
Return to the hotel and spend the rest of your evening at leisure.

Day 03
Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Minneriya
Drive Time – Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa – approximately 1.5 hour / Polonnaruwa to Minneriya – approximately 30 minutes
Evening morning explore the wondrous ruins and monuments of the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa.
On your way back to the hotel, thrill your family with a jeep safari and some of Sri Lanka’s best wild elephant watching at Minneriya National Park.
Return to the hotel and spend the rest of your evening at leisure.

Day 04
Sigiriya / Kandy
Drive Time – Sigiriya to Kandy – approximately 02 hours
Journey south today out of the arid dry-lands and up into the lush green jungle to Kandy – the Hill Capitol of Sri Lanka and the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kingdom.  Enjoy a City Tour of Kandy once you arrive.
Evening, Tour the Temple of the Tooth and end with an unforgettable show of Traditional Kandyan Dance nearby.

Day 05
Kandy / Nuwaraeliya
Drive Time – Kandy to Nanu Oya – approximately 05 hours / Nanu Oya to Nuwara Eliya – approximately 15 Minutes
After an early breakfast, today you will travel up those verdant green hills that surround Kandy and venture further into Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and magic region – the Hill Country – proceeding to the quiet town of Nuwara Eliya by train. It is recommended that you take the morning train.
With its cool air, magnificent waterfalls, and thriving tea culture, the enchanting allure of these hills has to be seen to believe. A ride by local train to Sri Lanka’s “Little England” is a highlight of any trip to Sri Lanka. Your family will clacketty-clack through dark tunnels on winding tracks, past tea bushes trimmed by regular picking that look like green sculptures stretching up and down the misty hills as far as the eye can see. While on board you will encounter food vendors with their offerings of “short eats” and local musicians who will sing at the top of their lungs for a few rupees. Enjoy your journey – this is the complete experience.
Arrive in Nuwara Eliya greeted by your chauffeur guide and continue to your hotel to check-in and enjoy some time of leisure.

Day 06
Nuwaraeliya / Galle
Drive Time – Nuwara Eliya to Galle – approximately 6 hours
Enjoy an early breakfast, breath in a last breath of cool, mountain air, and continue south to the historical town of Galle.
Arrive at your hotel, check-in and spend some time at leisure.

Day 07
Galle
After breakfast at the hotel meet Juliet Coombe – author, historian, photographer, publisher, restauranteur, mom, and wife, as she takes you through the vast maze that is the Historic Galle Fort. This exciting one-hour walk will take you back to how life was during the colonial period. You will learn the history of the Fort; the largest “living” fort in Asia, and its inhabitants; meet the descendants of the original fort families, visit buildings and landmarks that have stood the test of time, learn about the spice trade, and most importantly, sit down for some quality time with Juliet at the end of your walk, where you will recap your days’ learning over a hot cup of spice tea.
There on after the heat of the sun has died down in the evening, take a relaxing Village Cycle Ride.
The rest of your day is at leisure to enjoy the Fort and the hotel.

Day 08
Galle
Drive Time – Exploring Galle
Enjoy another day of leisure to relax in your hotel or explore the city of Galle and the Galle Fort.
Its lovely museums, jewelry shops, antiques, and the stunning views of the coast from the ramparts can easily be explored in a day. After a busy week of traveling, you’ll enjoy the slow pace of this fort town as you reflect on your stay in Ceylon and watch a glorious sunset over the Indian Ocean

Day 09
Galle / Negombo
Drive Time – Approx. 2.5 hours
Now, having experienced the best of Sri Lanka’s unforgettable wild and natural wonders, you will be ready for some relaxing time on our world class beaches. Heading back north to Negombo will offer you a luxurious setting in beachside accommodations to bask in the sun, watch the kids splash in the water, and let the waves wash over your feet for your final night prior to departure.
En-route to your hotel visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery for a chance to see sea turtles hatching in the wild.
Stretch back in a hammock with a drink in your hand and reflect on your time in Sri Lanka. Watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean and marvel at its rich pinks and ambers while you wriggle your toes in the white sands of the beach one last time.

Day 10
Negombo / Airport
Drive Time – Approximately 15 minutes
Though it will be difficult to say goodbye, all good things come to an end. Your representative from Visit in lanka will meet you on time at the hotel lobby to return you by way of a scenic drive to the international airport for your departing flight and a safe journey home.
