PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR OF SRI LANKA option i – 06 NIGHTS

The 05 nights tour is designed for the wildlife photographer in mind to cover the best trails for that award winning photograph, that an ardent wildlife photographer so desire. With no less than three national parks covered in the itinarary, Yala, the most famous, Udawalawe, the elephant’s kingdom and Bundala, famous for migrant birds and a RAMSAR reserve. Listen to the nocturnal sounds from a jungle camp site as the darkness falls, feel like “Tarzan or Jane” with nothing to disturb your revere, not even the staff. Remember, Sri Lanka is the “Best out of Africa” destination for wildlife to witness the “big game”, Elephant, leopard, sloth bear and the distant cousin of the Cape Horn, the wild buffalo.

Day 01

  • Meet with our driver in Colombo and transfer to Udawalawe National Park – 4 hours drive approximately
  • Afternoon safari in Udawalawe National Park to photograph large herds of Elephants in Udawalawe National Park from 3 to 6 PM. Udawalawe is place where you could photograph the Asian Elephants in large herds and relatively in close quarters. Udawalawe National Park’s scenic backdrops are ideal Wildlife Photographers
  • Overnight stay in Kalu’s Hideaway Hotel in Udawalawe

Day 02

  • Morning safari in Udawalawe National Park to photograph large herds of Elephants in Udawalawe National Park from 6 to 10 AM. Elephants drinking water in Udawalawe lake is the key focus on this day
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer to Tissamaharama – 2 hours drive approximately
  • Afternoon safari in Bundala National Park from 3 to 6 PM to photograph resident and migratory birds. Bundala National Park is a most important bird sanctuary which is a RAMSAR reserve
  • Overnight stay in Hotel Chandrika in Tissamaharama

Day 03

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer to Yala National Park entrance gate – 30 minutes to 1 hour drive approximately
  • Meet with our camping crew at the park gate and be driven to the mobile tented safari camp situated deep inside Yala National Park
  • Lunch at the camp
  • Afternoon safari from 3 to 6 PM in Yala National Park focusing purely on Leopards and Bears to photograph them
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Mobile Tented Camp inside Yala National Park (Chilled beer and pre dinner drinks are included)

Day 04

  • Full day safari in Yala National Park venturing deep in to the wilderness in search of elusive Leopards and Bears to photograph them from 6 AM to 6 PM (Breakfast and lunch will be picnic meals as it is a full day safari)
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Mobile Tented Camp inside Yala National Park (Chilled beer and pre dinner drinks are included)

Day 05

  • Full day safari in Yala National Park venturing deep in to the wilderness in search of elusive Leopards and Bears to photograph them from 6 AM to 6 PM (Breakfast and lunch will be picnic meals as it is a full day safari)
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Mobile Tented Camp inside Yala National Park (Chilled beer and pre dinner drinks are included)

Day 06

  • Full day safari in Yala National Park venturing deep in to the wilderness in search of elusive Leopards and Bears to photograph them from 6 AM to 6 PM (Breakfast and lunch will be picnic meals as it is a full day safari)
  • Check out from Yala National Park and transfer to Chandrika Hotel – 30 minutes to 1 hour drive approximately
  • Overnight stay in Hotel Chandrika in Tissamaharama

Day 07

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer to Colombo – 5 to 6 hours drive approximately
  • Trip ends in Colombo
